The Beginning...

I did it. I ran on Monday (yes, it took me 3 days to write this blog post!). It was more of a humbling, bumbling, jiggling, flop... still, I had moments of happiness. I learned a few things....

1. I should have been afraid of deer and bunnies (no dogs on my street today!).
2. Ear buds do not stay in my ears.
3. Lady Gaga does in fact make me want to run!
4. I thought I needed a partner, but actually the fake trainer in the iPhone app works JUST FINE! When she says "Let's run!" I feel like OK! YEAH! LET'S GO!
5. I can only run for about 45 seconds before I want to stop.
6. Mike's boxers make excellent running shorts at this point!
7. I'm going to do it again.

Just last week I wrote down all the activities I am trying to be involved in that are not realted to my family...
1. La Leche League
2. MOPS
3. UU Church - Preschool
4. UU Church - 5th Sunday services
5. Southeast Pug Rescue
6. TN Equality Project
7. PFLAG

That is NUTS! What mother with a part time job and three children under 5 would POSSIBLY be able to be involved in 7 outside projects?! So, with much disappointment, but a real sense of "I cannot be in 8 places at once!" I have decided to quit everything except the UU Church. I will still attend La Leche & MOPS meetings, but I won't even think about fostering, going to TEP or PFLAG meetings, etc. I just can't do it.

So, I am going to organize this fucking house and spend more time with my kids... oh yeah, and run... I'll run more. Next run is Thursday, June 28. Oh crap... that's tomorrow!
